Pena has been sitting in free-agent pools for much of 2026 after a slow first half, but this five-game stretch is real. Three home runs in five games is a power output you ride. The Astros are a playoff team with a second-half schedule that works, and Pena's hit tool tends to click in sustained stretches when he gets going. At 22% owned, he's the most actionable add on the board this weekend in 14-team-plus leagues.

Peña was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to June 30 with a left calf strain he had been playing through for more than a week. Manager Joe Espada was optimistic about a minimum-stint return, targeting July 10 when Houston opens a home series against the Rangers. This is Peña's second IL trip of 2026 after a right hamstring strain earlier in the season. Nick Allen and Brice Matthews will share shortstop duties — neither provides meaningful fantasy offense.

The $54M Houston righty has been one of baseball's most polarizing arms — elite strikeout stuff (10.5 K/9, 91st-percentile Whiff rate) undercut by a command issue all season. But in late June, he posted back-to-back starts with 11 and 10 strikeouts against Cleveland and Detroit (21 Ks in 2 starts, just 1 walk combined) — a strong sign the control is finally catching up to the talent. At 36% owned, there's still time to grab him before ownership surges. His ceiling, if the walk rate stabilizes, is a genuine rotation ace. Add now and carry through the All-Star break.

Lambert returned from Japan's NPB and immediately became one of Houston's more reliable rotation arms. With 2 ER or fewer in three of four starts and a K rate that holds up at 9.3 per nine, he's a legitimate streaming option in 12+ team formats. Available in roughly 80% of leagues — the upside here isn't the floor, it's the matchup optionality in a good-offense environment.

Not expected in the lineup June 25 with lower-back soreness, and additional games are at risk. There is a real possibility of an IL trip if the issue doesn't settle. Mauricio Dubón fills in when Tucker is out.

Lambert's value is his deep four-pitch arsenal and elite command — he doesn't blow hitters away but executes a plan every start. Minute Maid Park plays into his groundball-heavy approach. Three home runs, nine RBI and five runs across four games — that is a level of production you simply cannot ignore. Paredes has always had the bat, and the Astros have carved out regular reps for him at third even in a crowded infield. Under 50% owned on Yahoo despite a legitimate power surge. Back from a brief IL stint and earned Houston's last save. The Astros were vague about the injury that shelved him, which warrants a close eye. He appears to have reclaimed the role but a second IL trip would open a hot committee. Buy back if you dropped him, but monitor the injury situation.

Held the closer role through Hader's 60-day absence, but Josh Hader was reinstated Tuesday and immediately reclaimed saves. Abreu remains a high-leverage setup arm with holds value, but his save opportunities are gone for the foreseeable future.

Expected to be activated during the first week of June after completing a dominant rehab (1.29 ERA, 11 K in 7 IP across seven appearances). Bryan King and Bryan Abreu have been splitting save chances in his absence. The moment Hader is activated he reclaims the role — if he's available in your league, add him now before he returns.

Has completed six rehab appearances across two minor-league levels (6 IP, 1 ER, 9 K) and is expected back in the first week of June. Bryan King has held the closer role with 4 saves and a clean ERA. The return timetable is firming — expect an activation announcement around June 2-7.

Scoreless in 6 straight, but his 7.63 ERA on the year and 2.09 WHIP tell you the hot stretch isn't the norm. Hader (5 more rehab outings needed) is coming back by early June — Abreu's role has an expiration date. Stream saves while you can, but don't pay closer value in a trade.
