Hunter Goodman hits three home runs vs. Twins, becomes 4th catcher ever to reach 25 pre-ASB

ESPN · 2026-06-27

Colorado's Hunter Goodman crushed three home runs (428 ft, 428 ft, 401 ft) and drove in five runs in the Rockies' 8-5 win over Minnesota Saturday — the first three-homer game of his career. Goodman becomes just the fourth catcher in MLB history to reach 25 home runs before the All-Star break, joining Cal Raleigh, Ivan Rodriguez, and Johnny Bench. None of his blasts were cheap; the shortest traveled 401 feet. He now leads all MLB catchers in home runs and has a scorching 12 HRs in June alone.

Fantasy take: Emergency add in every format where he's available. Goodman leads all catchers by a wide margin with 25 HRs and his June surge isn't a Coors illusion — every exit velocity was legitimate elite contact. If he's sitting at 20% in your league Sunday morning, claim him before your FAAB window closes and don't look back.

Francisco Lindor returns with an RBI triple, lifts Mets to 6-2 win over Phillies in Andy Green's debut

Yahoo Sports · 2026-06-27

Francisco Lindor was activated from the injured list Saturday and made an immediate impact: his two-run RBI triple down the right-field line in the sixth inning — scoring Juan Soto and Bo Bichette — tied the game at 2-2 and sparked a four-run rally. AJ Ewing followed with a two-run single for a 4-2 lead. It was Lindor's first RBIs since April 22 and the biggest play of the game (+34.9% WPA). The Mets won 6-2 to end a seven-game losing streak; interim manager Andy Green picked up his first win since 2019.

Fantasy take: Reinstate Lindor from your IL immediately. The stat line is exactly what you wanted to see: the calf strain showed no hesitation, and the triple was a sharp ball down the line — not a looper. He's back in an everyday lineup spot in a Mets team that desperately needs counting stats. The new-manager honeymoon usually means lineup stability for a week or two, which is your window.

Adley Rutschman eligible to return from concussion IL today as Orioles open home series vs. Nationals

Yahoo Sports · 2026-06-28

Baltimore placed Rutschman on the 7-day concussion IL after an errant throw from shortstop Colt Emerson struck him in the helmet in the ninth inning of a loss to Seattle. The IL placement was retroactive, making him eligible to return today as the Orioles open a three-game home series against Washington. Manager Craig Albernaz said Rutschman has been going through a full day of catch and batting practice and is 'trending in the right direction.' Through 54 games before the injury: .254/.329/.458 with 8 HR and 40 RBI.

Fantasy take: Activate Rutschman from your IL slot immediately. He was on pace for his best offensive season since 2023 and returns to a lineup that should lean on him heavily against Washington — one of the more favorable catcher matchups in baseball. Samuel Basallo has been a fine emergency fill-in, but Rutschman goes straight back in.

Dodgers torch Padres 15-3: Yamamoto wins, Tucker and Rushing go back-to-back in the 9-run 6th

Associated Press · 2026-06-27

Los Angeles put together the most dominant win of its season Saturday, beating San Diego 15-3 in a game that included a nine-run sixth inning anchored by back-to-back home runs from Kyle Tucker and Dalton Rushing, capped by a three-run shot from Mookie Betts. Yoshinobu Yamamoto earned his 8th win (6 IP, 2 ER, 5 H). Kyle Tucker also hit a two-run single in the 8th. Tommy Edman doubled, tripled, and drove in three runs. LA's division lead pushed back to nine games.

Fantasy take: The Dodger offense is clicking on all cylinders. Tucker is the top priority — he's producing at an elite clip with elite lineup protection. Dalton Rushing (.240/.800 OPS, 9 HR in 49 games) is quietly one of the better catcher options in standard formats; check his ownership if it slipped during a quiet June. Tommy Edman's multi-hit, multi-extra-base output is consistent enough to roster in 12+ team leagues.

If Goodman is under 30% in your league Sunday morning, you have one chance to claim him before everyone else wakes up. He leads all catchers with 25 HRs and has quietly become one of the most productive bats in baseball — his June alone (12 HRs) is better than most players' full seasons. All three Saturday shots were 400+ feet, so this isn't Coors Field smoke and mirrors.

Lambert returned from Japan's NPB and immediately became one of Houston's more reliable rotation arms. With 2 ER or fewer in three of four starts and a K rate that holds up at 9.3 per nine, he's a legitimate streaming option in 12+ team formats. Available in roughly 80% of leagues — the upside here isn't the floor, it's the matchup optionality in a good-offense environment.

Jump is the cleanest early-career SP story since Blake Snell's first full season — zero home runs through five starts, elite walk rate, and a 9-strikeout game against San Francisco on June 25. At 35% ownership, this is the most obvious add in standard formats this week. The A's rotation isn't burning him out and he's completing six or more innings regularly.

The 24-year-old Athletics lefty has posted a 2.37 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 26:9 K:BB across 30.1 major-league innings since debuting May 26 — with zero home runs allowed in five starts. His June 25 start (5 IP, 0 ER, 9 Ks vs. San Francisco) was the most dominant of his young career. Jump is in the rotation to stay, and at 35% owned he's your lowest-hanging fruit. Managers who wait until he's 65% will be paying premium trade prices in three weeks.

Adley RutschmanC, BAL

Rutschman was placed on the seven-day concussion IL after a throw struck him in the helmet in the ninth inning of a loss to Seattle. The placement was retroactive, making him eligible to return today as Baltimore opens a home series against Washington. Manager Craig Albernaz reported a full day of catch and batting practice Friday and said Rutschman is trending in the right direction. Through 54 games before the injury: .254/.329/.458, 8 HR, 40 RBI.

IL-15

Ronald Acuña Jr.OF, ATL

Grade 1 left hamstring strain — his second IL stint at the same location in 2026. Manager Walt Weiss said the Braves are being 'significantly more cautious' this time. All-Star break return appears unlikely; mid-to-late July is the working timeline. The Braves (49-31, leading the NL East) have enough offensive depth to absorb his absence short-term.

IL-60

Blake SnellSP, LAD

Snell threw his first bullpen session Friday — 15 pitches, fastballs only — the first of four required sessions before he can face live hitters. He had a NanoScope procedure on his left elbow May 19. His four-step bullpen progression means July 10 is the earliest eligible return date, with a post-All-Star timeline (late July) more realistic. Chayce McDermott is holding the rotation spot.

IL-60

Cole RagansSP, KC

Manager Matt Quatraro confirmed Ragans is headed for elbow surgery — his third career procedure. He has been on the 60-day IL since May 6 with left elbow impingement, and a failed rehab attempt led to the surgery decision. With August the absolute earliest possible return from surgery, his 2026 fantasy value is done. Cut and stream.

Is Bryce Miller Back?

After a rough 2025 season (5.68 ERA) that had many fantasy managers souring on the pick, Bryce Miller has come back in 2026 looking like a completely different pitcher. Since returning from an early-season oblique strain in mid-May, he has posted a 1.58 ERA, 43 strikeouts, and a 30.5% K rate across his recent starts — all career-best territory. His latest gem: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 9 K against Detroit. The driver is a documented arsenal overhaul that has been independently confirmed by multiple Statcast observers.

The transformation is built on two changes. First, Miller has nearly abandoned his sinker (17.3% usage in 2024 → 2.2% in 2026) — a pitch that opponents were barreling regularly. In its place, he's leaned heavily on a revamped splitter and an expanded slider. The splitter now generates a 33.3% whiff rate, just 6.3% hard-hit rate, and a .182 xwOBA — one of the most effective put-away pitches in the game. His slider's xwOBA has dropped from .372 in 2024 to .102 in 2026, turning a liability into a legitimate swing-and-miss weapon. Across every secondary pitch, every offering generates a whiff rate above 34%.

The surface-level results are backed up fully by Statcast. He's allowing an 85.5 mph average exit velocity (elite contact suppression) with a 3.6% barrel rate. His average exit velocity against ranks in the top tier of all MLB starters. At roughly 50% ownership in most leagues, Miller represents accessible upside — he's not yet locked up in every format. The one note of caution: this version of him is built on execution precision. A mechanical blip would show up fast. Watch his first bad outing to determine whether it's noise or a structural issue.

1.54 ERASince mid-May IL return
.182 xwOBASplitter — elite put-away pitch
85.5 mphAvg exit velocity allowed — top-tier contact suppression
The VerdictBuy at or near full price. Miller is no longer the post-hype gamble — he's a legitimate top-25 SP with Statcast backing every surface number. If he's at 50% in your league, add him. If you already own him, don't even think about selling.

Closer Monkey's Leverage Ledger2026-06-27

Saturday's big slate featured Raisel Iglesias (ATL) converting save No. 16 — his 34th consecutive successful save opportunity since July 28, 2025, the longest active streak in baseball and within three of Craig Kimbrel's 2013 Atlanta record. Emilio Pagan (CIN) took another small step in his Triple-A rehab with the Reds' committee situation still unresolved. Jacob Webb (CHC) was clean again in a hold, and Clayton Beeter (WSH) converted without incident, though his blown-save total (4) remains an active concern.

CloserTeamStatusNote
Emilio PaganCIN🔴 CommitteePagan started his Triple-A rehab June 25 — just six pitches in a 1-2-3 inning — and needs at least one more appearance before the Reds bring him back. In the meantime, Tony Santillan remains the nominal closer but has underperformed. Four different pitchers have recorded the last four Cincinnati saves. Don't roster more than one Reds arm in standard formats; the distribution is genuinely random until Pagan returns.
Jacob WebbCHC🔴 CommitteeDaniel Palencia remains on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation (placed June 16, no clear return date). Webb is the front-runner but Caleb Thielbar and Phil Maton have both converted opportunities. The Cubs have produced limited save chances, making this even harder to navigate. Only carry one Cubs reliever in standard formats — two is dead weight given how unpredictable the distribution has been.
Clayton BeeterWSH🟡 WatchFour blown saves on the season, yet the Nationals doubled down by optioning backup Gus Varland after last week's meltdown — confirming Beeter as the role holder despite the shaky track record. Washington leads MLB with 24 blown saves in 48 opportunities. The role is his to lose in the near term, but the floor is very low. Speculative add only in 14+ team leagues.
Alex LangeKC🟡 WatchSix consecutive saves since Carlos Estévez (shoulder IL) and Lucas Erceg (blown saves) fell out of the picture. Lange hasn't allowed a run in his last 7.1 innings and is the clearest daily closer in Kansas City. Watch status reflects Estévez's eventual return, not current production — hold Lange with confidence and track the Estévez timeline.
