Lower back inflammation — third IL placement of the 2026 season. Removed during pregame warmups when the back flared up. Has played only 50 games this season, hitting .182 with 10 home runs. Manager Schumaker called it non-season-ending but offered no return timeline; further evaluation ongoing. This marks his second straight back-related IL stint after also missing time in May–June.

7-day concussion IL, stemming from a home plate collision with Royals catcher Carter Jensen on June 12. Seager remained in that game and homered, but sat the entire weekend series against Boston before the placement was formalized Monday. This is his second IL stint — he previously missed three weeks with lower back inflammation before returning June 4. Earliest possible return: Friday, June 21.

STATUS UPDATE: Visiting a back specialist this week after persistent back tightness. The Rangers haven't placed him on the IL yet, but the visit suggests one is coming. Seager was hitting .280 with 7 HRs. Back issues in 31-year-olds tend to drag on — expect an IL stint within days.
