2 entriesSignificant left oblique tear confirmed by MRI on May 28, per Dave Roberts. Hernández had just returned from left elbow surgery after missing 53 games and suffered the new injury in his first four at-bats back. Earliest return is mid-to-late July.
Tweaked his left oblique during batting practice on May 26 and aggravated it the following day. Testing is pending to determine severity. The Dodgers are being cautious — obliques in position players frequently land on the IL once imaging is done. Expect a placement if scans show meaningful tearing.
Stash of the Week
1 entryHernández took his first live at-bat in an internal Dodgers session July 5 — the clearest sign of progress yet since straining his oblique. He is multi-eligible at 2B, SS, and OF across most major platforms, making him one of the most roster-flexible stashes available heading into the second half. At 12% ownership the cost is essentially zero. Add him to your IL slot in any 14+ team league, especially in dynasty formats where his position eligibility and Dodgers lineup context offer guaranteed counting-stat upside when healthy.
