Chapman will undergo season-ending hernia and core-muscle surgery with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia, expected Tuesday. He played through the injury for most of 2026 but could no longer manage the pain with the Giants eliminated from playoff contention. Casey Schmitt is also on the IL with a meniscus tear, leaving Osleivis Basabe and Christian Koss to handle third base. No 2026 return date.
