OBP Risers — 14-Day On-Base Delta
Hitters whose 14-day on-base percentage has spiked relative to their season-to-date OBP — a fast signal of an emerging hot streak that's not yet priced into ownership percentages.
- Computed across all qualifying MLB hitters with at least 30 PA in the trailing 14 days.
- Delta = 14-day OBP minus season-to-date OBP through the same date 14 days ago.
- Anything above +.080 is a strong signal worth investigating.
On-base percentage is one of the most predictive single stats in fantasy baseball: it captures both contact and patience, and it's the gateway to runs scored and counting categories. A hitter whose OBP over the last 14 days is meaningfully higher than their season number is in a real, identifiable hot streak — often one that started before the headline batting average reflects it.
The Roto Digest computes a 14-day OBP delta against the prior 14 days, ranks the league, and surfaces the top 10 risers each morning. Most appear before mainstream ownership catches up — these are the players you can still grab off the wire in 12+ team leagues.
Pair this list with Statcast buy-low candidates: a hitter who appears on both is putting up the production AND the underlying contact quality to back it up. Those are the highest-confidence adds.
